Fun facts from the card: Beard, a breaststroker who grew up in the swimming hotbed of Orange County, Calif., became the second-youngest American swimmer to win a gold medal when she was part of the U.S. 400-meter medley relay team in Atlanta in 1996. She also won two silver medals that year. Later, she won bronze in Sydney, Australia, in 2000 and gold in Athens, Greece, in 2004, bringing her medal count to five. In 2003, she broke the world record in the 200-meter breaststroke.
