Fun facts from the card: Beachley grew up hanging out on the beach near Sydney, Australia, and became one of the most successful women surfers ever. She turned pro at age 16 in 1989 but didn’t win her first contest until 1993. In 1998, she won five of 11 events to earn her first world championship then went on to win the title next five years ~ becoming the first six-time women’s champion. She added a seventh title in 2006 before retiring in 2008.
