At first it was Coach Spo and the entire Miami Heat team took the step to help my Kababayans who are devastated by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) especially in Tacoloban City, Philippines. Today, as I’m surfing the web reading for an article for today’s matchup between the Jazz and Warriors, I have found that the Golden State team also doing its own fund raising campaign by selling the above T-Shirt.
In conjunction with Filipino Heritage Night, presented by Cache Creek Casino Resort, the Warriors will hold fundraising efforts to support those affected by Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. See below for the multiple ways to contribute at this Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz:
DONATE TO THE RED CROSS
Red Cross representatives will accept donations at all Oracle Arena entrances.
TEXT RELIEF TO 864233
Donate $10 to UNICEF USA by texting RELIEF to 864233. All donations will help support UNICEF’s efforts in the ongoing relief efforts in the Philippines.
FILIPINO HERITAGE T-SHIRT
10 percent of all sales of a Warriors adidas Filipino Heritage T-Shirt will support Doctors Without Borders, which is helping those affected by the typhoon. The shirt will be the item of the game on Saturday, allowing fans to save $5 if they purchase at the Warriors Team Store at Oracle Arena. The shirt is also available at warriorsteamstore.com.
