Just a week ago, Kevin Durant is nursing a hamstring injury then two days ago he helped Oklahoma City Thunder crush the Utah Jazz by scoring 27 points. Today, another big night for “The Durantulla” as the Thunder defeated the struggling Brooklyn Nets.
First quarter action between the Nets and Thunder while Oklahoma is down 19 to 23. Russell Westbrook is looking for an open teammate. Guess who is that player he found? KD is running towards to basket and Russ passed the ball from way half-court that ended up to the hands of Durant for an acrobatic reverse lay-up.
“He makes it look easy,” Westbrook said. “Obviously he makes everything he does look easy, but he works hard and he’s put himself in position to come back and show how good a player he is.”
Kevin Durant leads all scorer with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists while his partner Russell Westbrook added 27 points and 13 assists for the Thunder.
“We played with a sense of urgency. They tied the game up and we didn’t want it come down to the last minute,” Durant said. “We did a good job of staying focused and staying with it. I just stayed patient with it and I was able to knock some down.”
Brook Lopez led the Nets with 26 points and 8 rebounds while rookie Rondae Hollis-Robinson chipped in a double-double effort with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Final score Thunder 110 Nets 99.
