The Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard was named as the 2019 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
Leonard has made sure that this time around, his efforts won’t go to nothing as he led his Raptors squad to its first NBA championship.
In the first half, “The Claw” was held to only nine points as he was the point of defense of the Golden State Warriors.
Yet, in the second half, Leonard able to make adjustment and started to pour more points for Toronto particularly in the final quarter.
With less than a second remaining in the game, Kawhi sank his two free-throws to give his squad a comfortable four point advantage.
The last time Leonard won the same award was during the 2014 NBA Finals where he helped the San Antonio Spurs win a championship against LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
Leonard is the highest drafted player in the Toronto Raptors as the number 15 pick during the 2011 NBA Draft.
