The National Basketball Association banned what they called “Ninja Style Headwear” this upcoming NBA season.
ESPN’s league insider Adrian Wojnarowski mentioned this on his tweet.
Jrue Holiday is one of the NBA players who pioneered this kind of fashion in the league. According to an interview via GQ, his inspiration for why he used the headgear is coming from tennis player Rafael Nadal.
“I just love lefties. I love how Nadal puts english and spin on the ball. From there, I started wearing that headband on the tennis court, and it went from there,” said Holiday.
Other notable names who wore the ninja style headwear last season are Sacramento Kings De’Aaron Fox, New Orleans Pelicans Jrue Holiday, Philadelphia 76ers Jimmy Butler, Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James and Los Angeles Clippers Montrezl Harrel.
