Lakers Opened The New Year With A Bang

The Los Angeles Lakers started their 2020 with a victory versus the Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center Arena, 117-107.

LeBron James earned his eighth triple-double for the season after he logged 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists while teammate Anthony Davis made 26 points and 11 boards.

Both James and Davis poked in their eyes but it didn’t stop them to make a scoring rampage.

Avery Bradley chipped in with 18 points and was sharp in his shooting as he swished nine of his shots out of 11 attempts.

Los Angeles seems like they’re very hype to welcome the new year as they wasted no time and opened the match with 43-17 advantage.

Lakers’ largest advantage went as high as 36 points.

Yet, the visiting Phoenix squad were resilient as they were able to trim the deficit down to only eight points in the fourth quarter after DeAndre Ayton made a slam dunk from a Ricky Rubio assist.

The Suns even made the score closer at the 2:13 mark after Kelly Oubre Jr., converted his six-foot jumper, 103-110.

However, time wasn’t on the Phoenix side to make a complete momentum shift and eventually lost the game.

LA Lakers still owns the number one spot in the Western Conference with 27-7 while the Suns continue to be outside the top-eight squad at number 11 in West with 13-21 win-loss card.

The next game for Lakers is on January 4 (PHI time) versus the New Orleans Pelicans and for the Suns, they’ll be facing the New York Knicks also on the same day.
