Here are the game highlights of the match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics which was scheduled on February 24, 2020 (PHI time).
The Lakers were able to dodge a bullet as they were able to overcome the scoring explosion from the 21-year-old Celtics all-star Jayson Tatum who dropped 41 points and tied his career-high.
LeBron James scored from his clutch 15-foot fadeaway jumper where he put his squad ahead by a point. Yet, Anthony Davis split his free throws with 6.7 seconds remaining in the final frame which gave Boston a chance to tie the score and send the game to overtime.
However, the final possession of the Celtics wasn’t executed in perfection as Tatum got called for an offensive foul as he attempted to make a basket. The refs saw Tatum unintentionally whacked Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with a fraction of a second remaining. Actually, that was the last important play for Boston for them to return back to the game but it wasn’t materialized.
Davis led the Lakers with his 32 points and 13 rebounds output while LeBron James flirted with a triple-double production with his 29 points, eight boards, and nine dimes.
Tatum’s backup scorers were Jaylen Brown and Daniel Theis who delivered 20 and 16 points respectively. Gordon Hayward teased with his own version of triple-double effort with 10 points, eight rebounds and nine assists but was had an off-night shooting as he registered 5-of-15 from the field.
