Newly crowned slam dunk king of the NBA, Derrick Jones Jr., got a multi-year shoe endorsement contract from Puma.
Just in case you missed it, Jones wore Puma shoes during the dunk contest where he won by a point against Orlando Magic’s high-flyer Aaron Gordon. The final scoring of the said competition was controversial according to many fans who watched it yet, it is what it is and Jones took home the trophy.
The design of the Puma Clyde Hardwood sneakers which Jones used have white and vibrant pink colors to match the Miami Heat’s colorful “Vice Nights” jersey.
According to ESPN, Puma and Jones already have talks prior to All-Star weekend with regards to the said endorsement contract. Probably it got solidified after the 23-year-old won the award.
“This is a day that I’m going to tell my kids [about],” he said.
Though the 2020 NBA All-Star is still fresh but Jones already looking forward to winning another hardware next year.
“As a kid, I told my father I was going to win one, and I got it,” he said. “So I’m going to go get another one next year.”
