The Boston Celtics took Game 1 of their best-of-seven first-round series versus the Philadelphia 76ers, 109-101.
The future looks bright for Boston as two of its young superstars took centerstage during their playoffs opener.
Jayson Tatum dropped 32 points and 13 rebounds while Jaylen Brown made 29 points and six boards to lead the Celtics.
Tatum was almost unstoppable in the first half as he delivered 21 points and became the youngest Celtics player to score 30+ points in playoffs.
Though Boston got the “W” yet they lost one of their key veteran in the later stage of the game when Gordon Hayward twisted his ankle after he landed to the foot of Daniel Theis.
As expected, the Sixers played without Ben Simmons and for the remainder of the 2020 Playoffs due to an injury.
Philadelphia went to their other superstar, Joel Embiid for points production and did his damage in the first quarter.
Embiid got 26 points and 16 rebounds and got scoring support from Josh Richardson and Alec Burks who scored 18 points each.
Game 2 between the Celtics and Sixers is scheduled on August 20 at 6:30 AM (PHI time).
