Here are the highlights of the match between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks which was scheduled on August 18, 2020 (Local Time).

The Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic face the second seed in the west, the Los Angeles Clippers.

At the start of the first quarter, Kristaps Porzingis of the Dallas Mavericks and Ivica Zubac of the Los Angeles Lakers are the ones who tipped the ball and it goes to Maxi Kleber’s possession. Kleber then passes it to Luka Doncic but it was stolen by Patrick Beverley. Beverley couldn’t complete the defensive play as he loses the ball. Luka Doncic then picks the ball from his hands.

It was a nightmare start for Luka and his team. Luka had a lot of turnovers and his team was down by 16 points at 2-18.

Within the first quarter, when Doncic went for a drive, he slips and loses the ball to Paul George. After that, he felt a slight pain in his ankle.

Despite the Mavericks down by as much as 16 points at the start of the first quarter, they gradually climb up the scoreboard and tied the game at 22 as Seth Curry knocks down a tough jumper against a clipper.

The Mavericks ended the first quarter with a four-point advantage at 38-34.

It was chaos throughout the second quarter as both teams are fighting hard for a big lead. As six minutes have passed in the second quarter, Kristaps Porzingis was called for a technical foul. Paul George was the one who took the technical free throw shots and went two for two.

As the Clippers were trailing 5 points, Marcus Morris Sr. steps up and teases up a three-point shot and hits it off of an assist by Lou Williams. After Tim Hardaway misses a three-point jumper, Lou Williams got the defensive rebound and passes it to Marcus Morris who makes another jumper. After that, the Mavericks were forced to take a full timeout.

At the end of the second quarter, the Clippers are still trailing at 69-66.

The Clippers had the upper hand in the third quarter as they make the Mavericks stumble.

In the first minutes of the third quarter, Luka Doncic was called for a travel as he went for a drive. While he was driving, he was being held by Marcus Morris Sr. in the arm, and because of that, Luka Doncic was aggravated and moved his hand away from Morris. Both players exchange some words. Kristaps Porzingis and Patrick Beverley joined the scuffle. After a few moments, Kristaps Porzingis was called for another technical foul. Therefore, Porzingis got thrown out of the game.

Because of the ejection of Kristaps Porzingis, Doncic can’t do it on his own to give his team back the lead.

The third quarter ended as the Clippers have a five-point advantage against the seventh seed in the west.

Paul George opens up the fourth quarter hot as he knocks down shots after shots for his team. After his hot start, Kawhi Leonard joined him as he also went for a hot start.

Despite the 42 points scored by Luka Doncic, he just can’t do it all by himself as he and his team loses to the Los Angeles Clippers.
