Here are the highlights of the Game 2 Western Conference Semi-Finals match between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets which was scheduled on September 6, 2020 (Local Time).
The Nuggets made an excellent bounce-back and avenged their humiliating loss in Game 1 by pounding the Clippers in Game 2, 110-101.
Denver’s largest lead reached 23 points led by Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic who inflicted their damage mostly in the first half. Jokic and Murray had a combined 53 points though they got stopped in the second half.
Jamal Murray Versus The “Klaw”
To finish off the Clippers, Garry Harris sank several three-pointers to keep Los Angeles behind the driver seat for good.
Though the Nuggets stars are full of young players yet it was evident that head coach Michael Malone needed some veterans to step up and show the kids how to play in the post-season games.
Paul Millsap, who has a 14-year NBA career and counting and a 4-time NBA All-Star logged 32 minutes where he produced 13 markers where six of those points came from behind the arc.
Another noticeable adjustment made by the Nuggets is their suffocating defense on Kawhi Leonard. “The Klaw” struggled and was 4-of-17 from the field and finished the match only with 13 points yet continue to be active in crashing the boards where he registered 10 rebounds.
Paul George tried to carry the scoring and managed to deliver 22 points. Marcus Morris Sr., who is one of the catalysts in their Game 1 victory added 11 points in the defeat.
Game 3 between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets is scheduled on September 9, 2020 at 9:00 AM (PHI time).
