Here are the highlights of the Game 2 Western Conference Finals match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets which was scheduled on September 21, 2020 (Local Time).
Anthony Davis hits a game-winning three-point shot and gives the Los Angeles Lakers a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals series against the Denver Nuggets.
Anthony Davis, the highest scorer for the Los Angeles Lakers, finished the game with a game-winning three-point shot off of an inbound assist from Rajon Rondo in the long, stretched arms of Nikola Jokic. The center almost finished with a double-double performance as he marked 31 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and hit 2 three-pointers. Not only that, but he also went active on the defensive end as he blocked 2 shots.
In this game, “The King” played as a scorer after playing as a facilitator in Game 1. He scored 20 points in the first half alone, in total, he scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Like Davis, he also blocked 2 shots.
On the other side of the court, the Denver Nuggets were almost there to close out the game and tie the series, but they just could not stop the outstanding play of the Lakers.
Nikola Jokic, their highest scorer, nearly finished the game with a double-double performance. Despite the tight defense that was brought to him by Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard, he still scored 30 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Center from Serbia was one of the key players to shorten the lead in the fourth quarter and eventually got the lead, but he just could not translate it to a big win.
Their outstanding point guard, Jamal Murray, closed the game with 25 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He shot awfully outside the three-point line as he only drained 2 of his 9 attempts from there.
The series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets will resume on Wednesday at 9:00 AM for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.
