Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier leads Charlotte Hornets past the San Antonio Spurs, 100-97.

Hayward and Rozier had their own version of clutch free-throws at the tail-end moments of the fourth quarter to dodge the bullets coming from the boys of San Antonio.

The Hornets were leading in the first three-quarters of the regulation until Demar Derozan sparked his squad to make a comeback. In the final quarter, the Spurs able to regain the lead and Charlotte quickly responded.

Hornets’ head coach James Borrego called a timeout and his designed play produced four points yet most importantly they were able to stop the momentum to swing in the opposite direction.

The Hornets played without their super rookie Lamelo Ball who is now declared out for the rest of the season due to a wrist injury.

Gordon Hayward led Charlotte with his 27 points, seven rebounds, and six assists performance while “Terry Scarry” continue to be consistent in clutch moments as he chipped in with his 24 points and six assists outing.

Spurs’ Demar Derozan got the game’s highest-scoring output with 28 points to go along with his five assists while Derrick White added 21 points in a losing effort.

Charlotte’s next game is on March 25 versus the Houston Rockets and for San Antonio, their next assignment is up against the Los Angeles Clippers scheduled also on March 25.
