Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James suffered a high ankle sprain and he’s reported out indefinitely.
The sad scene especially for all the Lakers’ fans took place after a couple of minutes in the second quarter. James was seen like he’s setting his team-up for an offensive play then a triple-team was thrown at him by the opponent to force a turnover. There was a loose ball and then Atlanta Hawks forward Solomon Hill collided with LeBron’s right ankle.
The 18-year NBA veteran was seen rolling and screaming after that while clutching his leg.
“I haven’t necessarily seen him scream and scowl like that probably ever,” teammate Kyle Kuzma said.
The Lakers called a timeout after that scenario to check James while he’s still on the floor. He was surrounded by teammates, coaches, and members of medical staff showing deep concern for the All-Star.
LeBron able to get up on his own and was able to return to the game after the timeout. He was able to deliver another three-pointer for his team but that was the last bucket he made for that game as LeBron checked out for good. He finished the game with 11 points, four assists, and a rebound.
LeBron’s double-digit streak is still well protected and it’s now at 1,036.
