Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2020-2021 regular season match between the Brooklyn Nets (BKN) and the New York Knicks (NYK) on April 6, 2021 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Barclays Center.
Kyrie Irving strikes again with another 40 point game and led the Nets to defeat the New York Knicks.
The first pick of the 2011 NBA Draft scored 40 points and was still able to drop shots despite having an awkward angle while shooting the ball or facing against the outstretched arm of the defender. He also recorded 7 assists and dropped 5 three-pointers. Additionally, he played the most minutes for the Nets as he played for 37 minutes.
Despite having the most points scored, Irving says that it was a team effort to bring down the opposing team.
“It was a total team effort,” Irving shared. “A lot of guys stepped up, especially our bench. They came in and made a difference, and when we got guys out, the injury bug, we need that more than ever.”
Jeff Green delivered another 20-point game for the Nets. He scored 23 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Not only that, but he also managed to block a shot and dropped 2 crucial free throws to help secure the game late in the last quarter of the game. Harris added 16 points against the Knicks and dropped 2 three-point shots.
James Harden returned for today’s game after missing two games consecutively. However, he was not able to continue to play after playing for 4 minutes because of the same injury that led him to miss those two games.
Julius Randle of the New York Knicks recorded his fourth triple-double of the season, chipping 19 total points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists.
RJ Barrett and Reggie Bullock had a terrific game. Both of them scored 43 combined points, 22 for Barrett and 21 for Bullock.
“Well, I thought we had some costly turnovers that hurt us and the offensive rebounding hurt us,” Head coach of the Knicks said. “So I thought we played a very good first half, the start of the third was good, we didn’t close out the third well and then we fought at the end to have a shot at it.”
The Brooklyn Nets rises to 35-16 while the New York Knicks fall down to 25-26.
