Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2020-2021 regular season match between the Brooklyn Nets (BKN) vs the Toronto Raptors (TOR) on April 28, 2021 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Amalie Arena.
Jeff Green led the Brooklyn Nets past the Toronto Raptors with an incredible performance. The veteran forward tallied 22 points for the team while having 8 rebounds and made 3 three-pointers.
The Nets had an excellent, yet an odd game. The head coach decided to only play 8 Net players throughout the game, and they contributed decently.
Although Kyrie Irving had a rough game with 9 points, 6 rebounds and only made 3 out of his 13 looks, the rest of the 7 Nets played very well.
Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin helped Green secure the win, scoring 34 combined points, 17 for each of the forwards. Durant added 10 rebounds, ending his game with a double-double performance.
Joe Harris chipped in 16 with 4 three-point shots made while Shamet had 14.
Because of injuries and COVID-19 protocols, the chances of Harden, Durant, and Irving playing together on the court before the playoffs might be slim. The trio only played 7 games together since the start of the season.
“We recognize now that we’re not going to have the luxury of a run of games with everyone available, and we may not have that to start the playoffs,” Nash shared. “It’s been like an avalanche of relentless injuries, games and travel and it’s just part of the challenge for this team.”
Meanwhile, the Raptors’ veteran guard, Kyle Lowry showed off a terrific performance, scoring 24 points, diming 6 assists, and dropping 6 three-pointers against the Nets.
Anunoby added 21 points and 6 assists for the team.
Pascal Siakam within this matchup was not active. The Raptor forward only managed to hit 2 out of his 16 attempts. Overall, he scored only 10 points.
The Brooklyn Nets advance to 42-20 while the Toronto Raptors drop to 26-36.
