Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2020-2021 regular season match between the Los Angeles Lakers (LAL) and the Los Angeles Clippers (LAC) on April 5, 2021 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Staples Center.

Marcus Morris of the Los Angeles Clippers chipped in 22 points against the short-handed Lakers. The Los Angeles Clippers who dominated the Lakers throughout the game came out with the victory with a final score of 104-86.

The 2 superstars did not really play it out tonight against the short-handed opponent. Kawhi Leonard tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 dimes, almost finishing the game with a triple-double. His partner-in-crime, Paul George, scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

“We set the tone early defensively, we were physical and got into bodies,” Tyronn Lue, the head coach of the Clippers shared.

Montrezl Harrell went all out against his former team, knowing that he is one of the most reliable players out there for the Lakers in terms of defending and scoring. He ended the game with 19 total points with 6 rebounds in 7-12 shooting in 27 minutes of action. Horton-Tucker added 16 points for the Lakers squad.

The starts of the Lakers did not really have a terrific game because 4 of them shot the ball terribly. One of them is Kyle Kuzma who scored 6 points in 2-10 shooting. Schroder only managed to drop 3 of his 12 attempts.

“We got to play the right way on the offensive end,” Kuzma shared. “Defensively, we’ll be all right. Offensively, we got to find ways to play together. Can’t win games scoring in the 80s and 90s. Got to find ways to incorporate everyone.”

Frank Vogel, the head coach of the Lakers, mentioned that it was the Clippers’ defense that was a factor in their defeat.

“Credit the Clippers’ defense,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel mentioned. “They got up into us and we didn’t handle their pressure at all and we had a tough shooting night. We got to play through their pressure and physicality better than we did.”

The Los Angeles Clippers advance to 33-18 after defeating the Lakers while the Lakers drop down to 31-19.
