Russell Westbrook recorded history today against the Hawks where he had his 182nd triple-double, breaking Oscar Robertson’s 47-year old NBA record. At the end of the game, the versatile guard chipped in 28 points, 21 assists, and 13 rebounds. Not only that, but Westbrook also dropped 3 three-pointers after playing for 40 minutes.

“Honestly it never really bothered me one way or another,” Westbrook shared. “I’m very confident in the things I do for this game. I take a lot of pride in going out and preparing myself to be one of the most consistent guys in this league. It’s a tough thing to be able to do, and I want to give that comfort to my coaches, to my organization, so that when they call my number they know what they’re going to get.”

Unfortunately, Bradley Beal did not play in today’s game due to a strained left hamstring.

Trae Young had a phenomenal game, recording 36 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds. However, Young had a rough game in terms of hitting his three-point shots, managing only to drop 1 out of his 7 looks from beyond the three-point arc. John Collins added 28 points for the Hawks while also finishing the game with extreme efficiency as he converted 10 out of his 14 attempts.

Bogdanovic showed his three-point shooting skills within the matchup, hitting shot after shot on the Wizards. Overall, the European Hawk tallied 25 points and drained 7 three-pointers. Capela provided 22 big rebounds and 10 points, ending the game with a double-double performance for his team.

Lopez showed signs of thankfulness after playing alongside Westbrook on a historic night.

“He’s been relentless,” Lopez shared. “He’s been locked in and that’s something that anyone on the roster will tell you. It’s trickled down to everybody. It’s certainly a boon to have him on the floor with us.”

The Atlanta Hawks improve to 38-31 while the Washington Wizards fall down to 32-37.
