Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2021-2022 Regular Season between the Los Angeles Lakers (LAL) vs the Charlotte Hornets (CHA) on November 9, 2021 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Staples Center.

The Los Angeles Lakers hold off the Charlotte Hornets, beating them at overtime with a final score of 126-123 at the Staples Center.

Carmelo Anthony fueled the Lakers with 29 big points and seven three-pointers made. Not only that, but the veteran shot the ball with extreme efficiency as he went 9-13 on his shots on the floor. Anthony drilled a three-point shot in OT to give his team the lead with two minutes remaining in the game, a shot that the Hornets never recovered from.

Anthony Davis tallied 32 points and 12 boards at the end of the game, finishing the crucial matchup with a magnificent double-double. In addition, the skilled big man of the Lakers played for 44 huge minutes for his team. On the defensive end, Davis blocked five shots and stole three possessions from the opposing team. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook had another triple-double to add to his record as he ended the game with 17 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds. Unfortunately, he only delivered 5 of his 15 attempts and had seven turnovers within 41 minutes of action.

As the last seconds of the third quarter gradually go to zero, Malik Monk hits a difficult half-court shot at the center of the logo from Anthony’s assist as he went for a save. Overall, Monk sprinkled ten points against his former team.

Rajon Rondo dished out eight dimes for the game, but later got ejected after he got called for a flagrant 2 foul after he hit Rozier’s head as he went for the ball.

The Hornets had a great performance all throughout the game, especially in the second half, but it was not enough to defeat the Lakers.

LaMelo Ball led the team with a decent triple-double, tallying 25 points, 11 assists, and 15 rebounds. Terry Rozier on the other hand had 29 points but had a rough time converting his three-point shots as he only managed to hit three of his 10 attempts from beyond the three-point arc.

The Hornets’ veteran, Gordon Hayward had 21 points while shooting 7-14 from the field. Plumlee closed the game with 13 points but had to sit down late in the game since he had his sixth and final foul.
