Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2021-2022 Regular Season between the Utah Jazz (UTA) vs the Miami Heat (MIA) on November 14, 2021 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Vivint Arena.
The Miami Heat holds off the high-scoring avalanche of the Utah Jazz in the fourth quarter to defeat them at the Vivint Arena, breaking their three-game losing streak.
Jordan Clarkson went off on fire early in the game as he ended the first quarter with three three-point shots and a circus-like lay-up to beat the buzzer, helping the team cut the commanding lead from 15 points to only three.
Heat’s Robinson, who had a rough shooting night in his previous matchups, had 22 points in this game and knocked down six of his 11 attempts from beyond the three-point arc.
Both Robinson and Clarkson showcased their three-point shooting skills in the first quarter as they hit threes after threes on each other.
Despite the rough shooting, Tyler Herro still manages to help his team in terms of scoring as he posted 27 points and eight rebounds. However, Herro only made one of his seven attempts from outside the three-point line. Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry added 21 points in their big win.
“We were physically and mentally ready to go into this game,” Lowry shared. “We lost three games on this road trip — two of them we had an opportunity to really win. We just got to continue to build and today was a good building block for us.”
Bojan Bogdanovic tallied 26 points while scoring 19 points in his big fourth quarter to keep his team’s hopes alive. In addition, the Croatian forward of the Jazz sank six three-pointers and grabbed six rebounds. At the same time, Rudy Gobert registered 14 points and 13 rebounds, closing the game with a double-double performance. The French Center also stole three possessions from the Heat on the defensive end.
On their way to narrow up the lead, Clarkson added 25 points but was not able to continue his hot shooting from outside the three-point line while Mitchell added 22 points.
After the game, the Jazz are now facing four losses in their last five matchups.
“I wouldn’t say we’re out here panicking, but I think it’s upsetting,” Mitchell shared. “I think that’ll be the word I use. It’s upsetting because we know each other, we know what we’re doing. And it’s just time for us to go out there and do it.”
The Jazz built a stellar 18-0 run to narrow up the 22-point deficit, but it was not enough to beat the opposing team.
“We just have to continue to get better in these situations,” Spoelstra said. “Defensively we were just really poor in those last six minutes, just trying to hold on. Three straight stops during those six minutes at any point — three straight — would have closed the game. But we just continued to allow them to score and get open air space.”
