Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2021-2022 Regular Season between the Utah Jazz (UTA) vs the Brooklyn Nets (BKN) on February 5, 2022 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Vivint Arena.

The Utah Jazz defends home court as they dominate the visiting short-handed Brooklyn Nets.

The Jazz crushed the Nets all throughout the contest. They never even let the Nets take the lead and they led by as much as 34 big points.

Donovan Mitchell makes his return in this matchup and he performed well against the road team. After missing eight games due to a concussion, Mitchell delivered 27 points on 8-10 shooting. Bogdanovic prolonged the fiery offense of the Jazz as he added 19 points, nine rebounds, and three three-point shots made.

“There’s so much focus other teams have on him that it frees up other guys offensively — he’s Donovan Mitchell and makes life a lot easier for everybody,” said Alex Jensen.

“Spida” also made six of his seven looks from outside the three-point arc.

“He was unbelievable,” Udoka Azubuike shared. “It looked like a video game. There was one time I had to catch myself in the moment because I was just watching him. Every shot was going in. Don is a star.”

Mitchell shared his frustration at the returning concussion symptoms since he got hit in the head on January 17.

“I was just happy to be playing basketball,” Mitchell shared. “I was joking before the game that I didn’t care if the ball went in. I was just happy to be out there running around, guarding, thinking the game, and playing with my teammates.”

Without the presence of Gobert, Azubuike stood up and finished the game with a double-double stat line, scoring ten points and grabbing eleven boards. Paschall and Whiteside provided scoring from the bench. Paschall ended with 16 points while Whiteside had 15.

Meanwhile, the Nets continue to struggle as they gain their sixth straight loss.

Cam Thomas tallied a career-high 30 points against the Jazz just four matchups after recording his previous best of 25 last week.

“They made a lot of 3s. They couldn’t miss at first,” Thomas shared. “It’s very demoralizing when you’ve got to take the ball out of the hoop every time,”

Kyrie Irving added 15 points in their efforts to snap their losing skid and struggled in his shots, converting only six of his 20 looks.

“We have a lot of special guys in our league, but there are a few special guys that even separate from that group of just being special and he’s (Mitchell) one of those people,” Irving shared.

The Nets are currently having four players that are injured, namely, Harden with his hamstring, Durant with his knee, Aldridge with his ankle, and Harris with his ankle also.

“We’re going through a tough stretch,” Steve Nash said. “We’re undermanned and we’re asking guys to do more. We played against an excellent offensive team. … I just keep telling the guys that it’s about staying together through this.”
