The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the NorthPort Batang Pier are going to battle against each other this upcoming night. Ginebra has moved down in the standings category with six wins and three defeats alongside a two-game losing slump while NorthPort is looking to improve its record in its last contests with three victories and six losses.

The Gin-Kings lost to their rival, the Meralco Bolts in their last matchup. They finished the first 24 minutes with low-scoring periods, tallying 16 in the first, and logging in 17 in the second. Ginebra was not able to break this momentum and it stayed up until the third quarter where they scored another 17-point period. They were able to outscore the Bolts in the last quarter, but it was not enough to reduce their lead which ballooned by as much as 22 points.

Thompson led the Kings with 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists on 5-16 shooting while Pinto, who came off the bench against Meralco, had 12 points. The big men, Aguilar and Standhardinger, scored 11 points and ten points, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Batang Pier was able to win over the Phoenix Fuel Masters in their previous game. Despite the Fuel Masters having an 11-point winning margin against them, they were still able to bring it down and later took control of the matchup.

Robert Bolick has already played for the team after missing a couple of matches due to an ankle injury. As he came off from the secondary cast, he logged in 17 points on 7-12 shooting while dishing out eight dimes and grabbing five boards.

Sumang, who is still leading the playmaking for NorthPort, had 18 points, eight dishes, and five rebounds against Phoenix. Ferrer had 18 points while Malonzo added 16 points and eight rebounds. The veteran Santos chalked up 13 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
