The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots are scheduled for a head-to-head game against the TerraFirma Dyip at 6:00 PM on July 8, 2022, live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila.
The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots and the TerraFirma Dyip are going to clash against each other this coming evening. The Hotshots are currently having four wins and three losses while the Dyip are still struggling in the conference as they are still yet to win a matchup in their first seven contests.
Magnolia is coming off from a win against the NLEX Road Warriors in their last matchup. The Hotshots dominated the Road Warriors throughout the second half and ended up with a big winning margin at end of the game with a final score of 73-87. In addition, they also held an 18-point lead against NLEX and trailed by as much as 15-points.
The Victolero-mentored group started their scoring barrage in the third quarter where they reduced the winning margin of the Road Warriors inch by inch and finally took control of the match. Jio Jalalon led their attack in that period as he orchestrated fastbreaks and pulled off jumpers against NLEX. He then delivered their long-awaited lead off of a pull-up shot on the foul line within the third period.
After a couple of plays, Barroca entered the game at 53-53 with three minutes left in the third quarter. He then started a ten-to-nothing run, knocking down three-pointer after three-pointer and jumpers after jumpers against the Road Warriors team. After that unbelievable run by Barroca, NLEX took a breather, were down by ten points at 53-63, and were not able to go near the Hotshots’ winning difference for the remainder of the game.
Barroca finished the contest with 18 points, five rebounds, three dishes, and three steals on the defensive end while Jalalon had 16 points, six boards, nine dimes, and also three steals against NLEX.
Meanwhile, TerraFirma lost to the Gin-Kings in their recent match and had a 26-point losing margin against them at one point. The Dyip squad only outscored Ginebra in the second period but got crushed in the other quarters in the matchup, especially in the fourth where they only tallied ten points against the Gin-Kings’ 24 points.
Tiongson had 24 points in the losing effort while Gabayni and Cahilig added 28 combined points in the losing effort, 14 from both of them.
