The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Converge FiberXers are going to have a head-to-head contest against each other this upcoming evening. Ginebra is currently sitting at the number spot in the standings list with four wins and one loss while the FiberXers are looking to improve to their record of 2-4.

The Gin-Kings won against the San Miguel Beermen, their sister team, in their last matchup. It was a tightly contested game in the first half, but in the second half, Ginebra was able to outscore the Beermen. They had 25 points in the third period against San Miguel’s 17 points. Although they only tallied 17 points in the fourth quarter, they still managed to hold off the opposing team in the last minutes of the contest to win the game.
Standhardinger led the team with 20 points, ten boards, and five assists on 10-17 shooting. The big man was tasked to defend “The Kraken” all throughout the game alongside Japeth Aguilar, who had 15 points, 14 rebounds, and two blocks.
Thompson almost logged in another triple-double into his stat line as he racked up 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists while playing 43 minutes of action for the Gin-Kings.
Furthermore, the Kings still defeated the Beermen even though the second unit only just produced five total points. Those points came from Caperal, who had three points, and Mariano, who had two points.
The FiberXers also came from a contest against the powerhouse San Miguel, but unlike the Gin-Kings, they ended up with a loss. Converge got outscored in the first two quarters in the game against the Beermen and were not able to cut down their winning margin in the following periods.
Bulanadi had 22 points while shooting 8-13 from the field in just 17 minutes for Converge while Digregorio had 21 points against the Beermen. Hill, who came from the bench, had 15 points while converting five of his six tries, while Ahanmisi and Murrell added 20 combined points in the losing effort, ten from both of them.
