The Hotshots dominated the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters in their last game as they held a 27-point winning margin against them. Magnolia started out strong in the first quarter, tallying 24 points and limiting the Fuel Masters to only log in an 11-point quarter. They then outscore Phoenix in every following period except in the fourth where the Fuel Masters registered 34 points against their 32 points.
Barroca had 21 points while shooting 8-18 from the field while Dionisio, who came as a second unit for Magnolia, had 19 points and seven rebounds against the Fuel Masters. Sangalang added 14 points and ten boards, Jalalon had 15 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Corpuz racked up 14 points and five boards.
Meanwhile, the Road Warriors are coming off from a tightly contested matchup against the Fuel Masters also. They held a 19-point commanding lead against Phoenix but not for long.
The Fuel Masters got control in the fourth quarter and led by as much as eight points with just a minute remaining in the contest, but NLEX was still resilient enough to force overtime as they followed it with an 11-3 surge.
Calvin Oftana had a phenomenal performance for NLEX, especially in that run late in the fourth quarter where he knocked down two consecutive three-pointers to force overtime. In addition, he continued his outputs in the extended period to keep pressuring the opposing squad. Overall, Oftana had 22 points, ten boards, and seven assists while splashing eight of his 16 attempts from the field. On the defensive end, the forward had two steals and two blocks.
Quiñahan also was a major factor in that run as he constantly knocked down jumpers after jumpers on Phoenix. The veteran forward finished with 21 points on 8-13 shooting. Alas logged in 18 points, Trollano had 17 points, while Chua scored 12 points against the Fuel Masters.
