2022 NBA top draft pick Chet Holmgren was reported that he may have suffered a leg injury during a pro-am game which was held in Seattle.
According to a team spokesperson, the second overall pick of the most recent NBA draft is undergoing tests for a possible right foot injury.
“Chet is in the process of undergoing evaluation, and when we have an update, we will communicate,” the spokesperson said.
Likewise, as per Senior lead NBA Insider Shams Charnia, the 20-years-old standout has a potentially torn ligament in his foot.
As per the video shared on Twitter, Holmgren was seen limping after he attempted to block the layup attempt of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James who returned to Seattle to play a basketball tournament for the first time since 2007.
Holmgren joined his fellow rookie Paolo Banchero together with other league superstars led by LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Dejounte Murray, and Aaron Gordon.
The humid day in Seattle plus with a huge crowd caused repeated wet spots and condensation inside the basketball court. In the second quarter, tournament officials canceled the game to protect the players.
Holmgren had a stellar performance during the Las Vegas Summer League where he dropped an average of 14 points and 8.4 rebounds in five outings.
