Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup Semi-Finals Game 4 between the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots and the TNT Tropang Giga (Talk ‘N Text) scheduled on August 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM.

The KaTropa will try to keep the winning momentum on their side while the Hotshots wanted to convert their semi-finals round to a best-of-three showdown when the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup resumes this evening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Without a doubt Talk ‘N Text will be entering Game 4 with high spirits after they made a dramatic ending in the previous match. That story worthy to be told to other basketball enthusiasts was the dagger three-pointer of Jayson Castro moments away from the final buzzer.

TNT was down by two points after the heroic acts of Magnolia’s guard Mark Barroca who made back-to-back baskets. With less time remaining on the clock and no timeout called from the KaTropa bench, Castro dribbled down the ball and after their bigs cleared the path it was the signal for that winning shot to be released.

“For me, either shoot or miss ‘yun, good shot pa rin para sa akin. ‘Yun ‘yung binigay ng defense. As a veteran, kailangan ko itira ‘yun. At the same time, kailangan na kailangan naming manalo ng Game Three,” said Castro.

Speaking about high spirits, Castro’s vibe in tonight’s game must be positively strong as he was just named the Cignal Play-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week.

For the Hotshots, on the other hand, head coach Chito Victolero seems like he considered Game 3 was a victory that got stolen from them. They had the right strategy to get the victory yet fell short. Despite that, the former Manila Metrostars guard sees some good tangibles that’s why they only need minor adjustments.

“We’ll see,” said Victolero. “Tingnan natin kung ‘yung preparations, konting adjustments na ginawa namin would be enough. Kasi base doon sa Game 3 wala ng masyadong kailangang baguhin sa gameplan namin.”

Two of the famous NCAA “Pinatubo Trio”, Ian Sangalang and Calvin Abueva got fouled out in that previous game yet Magnolia demonstrated that they have a deep roster to quickly fill-in the spot. Though not enough for them to secure Game 3 victory, sounds like coach Victolero is satisfied with what he sees.

“Breaks of the game. Very proud pa din of the guys,” related Victolero. “Nawala key players but we almost survived. Madali sanang mag-give up na kasi nga wala na Ian and Calvin, dapat mababa na morale mo. But we kept on fighting until the end.”
