The San Miguel Beermen and the Meralco Bolts are going to have the second game of their best-of-seven series in the semifinals.
San Miguel took down Meralco in their first meeting against one another in the semifinals and they did it in convincing fashion, ending the game with a 121-97 deficit.
The Beermen squad started strong in the first quarter, scoring 33 points while limiting the Bolts to only log in 17 points. They then proceeded to outscore the Bolts in every following quarter and had a huge winning margin that racked up by as much as 26 points.
Meralco, who had a weak performance in the first quarter, was never able to take control of the matchup and did not lead by just a point against San Miguel Beer.
Meralco’s Black and Newsome are aiming to bounce back from their struggling outputs in the first game. Both of them only registered 17 total points, eight from Black and nine from Newsome. In addition, Black only hit four of his 15 total tries while Newsome had a 4-10 shooting night.
As for SMB, CJ Perez led the squad with 25 points, five boards, and four dishes. not only that, but he also had four steals and a block on the defensive end while shooting 8-15 from the field. Rodney Brondial added 20 points and 11 boards.
Vic Manuel, as he came off from the bench for San Miguel, had 16 points in the winning cause against Meralco.
Meralco’s Banchero took over for the team and had 17 points while coming off as a non-starter while Almazan pulled off 16 points in the losing effort against SMB. Jose had 12 points while Hodge had 11 markers.
