Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup Finals Game 3 between the San Miguel Beermen and the Talk ‘N Text TNT Tropang Giga scheduled on August 26, 2022, at 5:45 PM.
The Beermen wanted to get the upper hand and keep the winning momentum on their side while the Tropang Giga wanted to avenge their awful performance during Game 2. That will be determined this afternoon as the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup Finals return in SM Mall of Asia Arena.
In Game 1, TNT super sophomore and currently the reigning Rookie of the Year, Mikey Williams struggled to find his shooting touch, particularly in the first half. Good thing that in that series opener he was able to find his groove in the second fueled his squad to make a comeback and stole the victory after Jayson Castro converted his game-winning shot.
In Game 2, Williams was unable to recover from his shooting struggle and only logged seven points along with his dismal shooting from the field particularly at the three-point area where he only made one against seven attempts. The main reason for his dismal performance is the injury he absorbed early in the game.
Despite of obvious hardship, Williams promised not to miss Game 3 and will do anything he can just to be his team.
“I’ll be ready for Game 3,” said Williams. “I’m gonna do whatever I have to do — if it’s cryo-chamber or ice bath, I’ll figure out a way to get better.”
Roger Ray Pogoy led the KaTropa in their second-game championship clash. He led his squad in scoring with 28 points but wasn’t enough for them to control the game and take home the 2-0 advantage.
For the Beermen side, Vic Manuel was in perfect timing where his best performance so far for his San Miguel came in Game 2. The man who is known as the “Muscleman” dropped 20 points while shooting 10-of-19 from the field. Marcio Lassiter also picked up his game and added 19 points while CJ Perez remains consistent in scoring and registered 23 points and three steals.
SMB head coach is glad that his squad was able to bounce back and avoid getting buried with back-to-back defeats.
“We’re so happy nanalo kami at hindi kami na 2-0 kasi mahirap na makabawi from 2-0 deficit,” said Austria.
