NLEX vs Rain or Shine (ROS) | September 23, 2022 | PBA Live Score And Result

Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup between the NLEX Road Warriors and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters scheduled on September 23, 2022, at 5:45 PM.

The Elasto Painters are on the brink of another championship run after their former coach returned to their squad while the Road Warriors will try to learn probably a new basketball system as they themselves will also welcome a new face in their coaching staff.

The statement “He’s back!” which was popularized back in the 90s is not all the time geared towards a player, this time around, that excitement, particularly for RoS fans is for their returnee head coach who steered the franchise to two championships.

Yep, that’s right, head coach Yeng Guiao is back with the Rain or Shine and he will be greeted with some familiar faces yet the majority of the roster are newbies in the league. Beau Belga, Gabe Norwood, and Jewel Ponferada are the last remnants of Elasto Painters’ glory days and players like Rey Nambatac, Santi Santillan and Mike Nieto will be coach Yeng’s dependable young guns that he can throw to their opponents.

For those who are familiar with coach Guiao’s basketball strategy, he always likes to have a different first-five combination and he always has this surprising unstoppable sixth man that made other coaches miss in their scouting reports.

NLEX on the other hand, they have just a few days to familiarize the plays designed by their newly hired head coach Frankie Lim. Yet, according to coach Lim part of his plan is to have his assistant Adonis Tierra lead the bench to keep the team’s chemistry.

“Adonis will lead the bench (because) I might mess up the whole game plan,” said the former San Miguel Beermen point, guard.

During the off-season, the Road Warriors is one of the teams that got involved in a blockbuster trade where they packaged rising star Calvin Oftana and Raoul Soyud to TNT as part of the three-team player exchange. The Road Warriors received a promising talent in Brandon Ganuela Rosser who is a bruiser down low and a potential 20-10 big-man.

Likewise, NLEX activated the services of Asi Taulava in lieu of the absence of JR Quinahan who is bothered by an injury according to the team’s executive Ronald Dularte.

The Fil-Tongan is on the verge of tying the record of PBA great Robert Jaworski of having the most seasons played in the league. Taulava needs to have that moment where he can log minutes in the score sheet of one of the tournament’s official games to make his 22nd season valid.
