Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2022-2023 Regular Season between the Philadelphia 76ers (PHI) vs Toronto Raptors (TOR) on December 20, 2022 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Philadelphia 76ers survives against the visiting Toronto Raptors in their overtime battle with a final score of 104-101.

Both teams battled it out in the fourth quarter, especially the Sixers since they were trailing Toronto’s winning difference late in the fourth. They were able to take a promising three-point lead, but the Raptors still managed to tie the contest and force an extension period off of a scoop layup by Siakam.

With five seconds to go, Embiid raises up in the key over two Raptors to win the matchup, but it came up short.

In overtime, the Raptors only tallied two points and gave up five points for the Sixers, resulting in them having the setback.

Philadelphia’s Harris gave the squad a three-point winning margin as he drained a corner three-point shot. This lead was never taken nor reduced by Toronto in the following sequences of the contest.

“He’s a star in his role,” Embiid shared his thoughts on Harris’ performance. ”That’s what he’s been doing all season, knocking down big shots.”

Joel Embiid finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds on 6-16 shooting while Harris had 21 points. Harden and Melton, both Sixers who struggled on their attempts, had 22 combined points against the Raptors.

Moreover, Harris went 7-9 on his shots overall, seven of those attempts were from beyond the three-point arc where he sank down five of them.

“He dedicated this summer to being a spot-up shooter, making shots, and he’s doing that,” Doc Rivers said of Harris’ improvement in shooting. “You can see he’s worked on improving the quickness of his release.”

Toronto had a huge avalanche as they were trailing in the third quarter, putting up a 19-1 surge as they reduce Philadelphia’s lead that ballooned by as much as 14 points. Siakam led the squad as he registered in ten of their 19 points during the run.

“We got the win. Even when it’s ugly, it still counts. We were up a lot the whole night, they made that run at the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth, but we reacted,” Embiid said.

Overall, Siakam had 38 big points for Toronto alongside 15 rebounds and six assists while playing for 48 minutes in action against the Sixers.

OG Anunoby and Boucher both added 13 points in the losing effort while VanVleet, who played for 41 minutes for the team, only had nine points and went 3-15 on his shots, 2-11 from three.
