Here are the live scores, updates, and results of the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Playoffs Semi-Finals Game 4 between the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots scheduled on December 21, 2022, at 3:00 PM live from the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The Barangay Gienbra San Miguel took a 2-1 lead in the Semifinals against the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in their best-of-5 series in Game 3.
The Gin-Kings shot 49% on the floor while Magnolia struggled with their looks as they only converted 35% of their shots. In addition, Ginebra shot 48% from beyond the arc while the opposing team shot 33% from three.
The third “Manila Clasico” contest featured a low-scoring game between the two squads in the first period where Ginebra only scored 17 points and Magnolia tallied only 15 markers. In the following period, Ginebra registered 32 points and limited the Hotshots to only having 19 to end the first half.
The Cone-mentored group maintained their momentum up until the last buzzer, resulting in them sitting on the driver’s seat of the series. Not only that, but Ginebra also had a 25-point winning difference against the Hotshots at one point of the matchup.
Unfortunately for Magnolia, their star player, Paul Lee only saw limited minutes against the Gin-Kings in Game 3. The veteran apparently was feeling under the weather when he stepped in the arena, although his pre-game test for COVID-19 was negative. Coach Victolero pulled him out of the game after just two minutes and 15 seconds of action by Lee.
The Hotshots did not have many offensive producers and it led to them having a subpar scoring output. Jalalon, who came off from the bench, led the team in scoring with 16 points and six assists. Their import, Rakocevic, only had ten points alongside 12 boards, but only sank four of his 12 attempts.
Wong and Dionisio added 20 combined points in the losing effort against the Kings.
As for the Barangay, they took advantage of Magnolia’s poor scoring and bullied them all throughout the matchup.
Just Brownlee had 38 big points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. On the defensive end, Brownlee had two steals and two blocks. Ginebra’s beloved import also went 12-20 on his shots.
Tenorio added 20 points while Thompson, who played for 40 minutes against Magnolia, had 12 points, seven boards, six dishes, and two rejections.
Both franchises will have another showdown in Game 4 on December 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena at 3:00 PM.
