Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2022-2023 Regular Season between the Boston Celtics (BOS) and the Brooklyn Nets (BKN) on January 13, 2023 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Barclays Center.

The Boston Celtics remains the best team in the league as they triumph against the Brooklyn Nets with a final score of 109-98.

Both teams played without their key players, namely, Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant and Boston’s Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics centered their game on their defense and offense in the remainder of the contest in the fourth and came up with the victory in Brooklyn.

Jayson Tatum had 20 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists for Boston while Smart and Brogdon had 32 combined points against the Nets, 16 from both of them.

Mazzulla also put in Payton Pritchard in the mix in their early fourth quarter efforts to be the playmaker of the team.

Brown had a right adductor tightness after tallying 41 points in a victory against the Pelicans. According to Mazzulla, the sensation guard could miss a week or more.

Derrick White filled in Brown’s shoes as a starting player for Boston and registered in 15 points.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn has still yet to win against the Celtics this season and now has received their second setback against them. Brooklyn is currently 0-9 when opposing the Celtics, including the previous seasons where both teams played on each other.

Irving had 24 points against his former team while also having six assists. Joe Harris, who replaced Durant as a starter, had 18 markers in the losing effort. TJ Warren had 20 points as he came from the bench.

Without Durant, the ball was mostly on the hands of Irving, who led the majority of the offense in the fourth. However, after having a decent game in the first three periods, Irving only converted three of his ten looks in the fourth quarter, caming up short on their rally against Boston.

“The first three quarters, felt like I had some good rhythmic shots going,” Irving shared. “In the fourth, I just wanted to be aggressive.”

The Nets will be playing without their star player Kevin Durant for at least two weeks after he sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Furthermore, Brooklyn had a subpar 5-16 run without KD last year.

Boston rises up to 31-12 while Brooklyn falls down to 27-14.
