Here are the scores, updates, and results of the NBA 2022-2023 Regular Season between the Utah Jazz (UTA) and the Miami Heat (MIA) on January 1, 2023 (All times are in Philippine Standard Time) at the Vivint Arena.
The Miami Heat storms in and takes a victory over the Utah jazz in their homecourt with a three-point banger from Tyler Herro to seal the contest.
It was a nail-biting game in the last minutes of regulation as both teams are trying to hold off the offense of the opposing squad. However in the last possession that was held by Miami, Herro threw up a running three-pointer to give the team a three-point lead at 126-123 as the time hit zero.
Herro ended the crucial contest with 29 points, nine boards, and six dimes on 10-20 shooting from the floor while Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 32 points and eight boards. Victor Oladipo registered in 23 as he came from Miami’s secondary unit.
“The ball was flying around,” Herro shared. “We were making plays for each other, getting stops defensively and turning it into easy buckets on the other end.”
As they got the win against Utah, they now have won three out of their past four matchups. Miami shot 51% on the floor while Utah hit only 43% of their looks.
“That’s what we need,” Adebayo shared. “That’s what makes us a better team, when everybody is involved and flying around and making shots. The ball’s not sticking.”
On the other hand, the Jazz put up their efforts as they trail Miami’s winning difference late in the fourth, but it was not enough to defend home court. Markkanen sank three charity stripe shots after his defender was called for a questionable shooting foul as he went up for a three-pointer to tie the scoreboards. But on the other end, a miracle happened for the visiting squad and that was the period of the matchup.
Markkanen chalked up 29 points alongside 14 boards while Clarkson had 22 points in the losing effort. Beasley had 17 points he came off from the bench while Olynyk and Sexton both had 14 against the Heat.
Miami rise up to 19-18 while the Jazz drop down to 19-20.
