The Bay Area Dragons defeated the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in Game 4 to tie the series at 2-2, forcing a best-of-three between the two franchises.
Bay Area was short-handed against the Gin Kings in their recent contest as they played without their star import, Andrew Nicholson. The rest of the players had to stand up for their team in order for them not to be farther away from the Kings.
“We needed to come out,” Lam said.
Kobey Lam did that, showcasing his lethal shooting to help his squad tie the series. The sensational guard of Bay Area had 30 points on 8-14 shooting from three-point range. Not only that, but he also had nine boards and four assists.
Yang, who played all throughout the game, had 18 points while Zhu also had 18, combining 36 total points in the win. Blankley added 7 points, but only managed to hit three of his 16 looks from the floor.
As for the Barangay Ginebra, they had 15 turnovers as a team and blew their 12-point winning difference against the Dragons.
They also recorded their second-lowest output in scoring in a game with 86 points within the Finals. 82 being their lowest back in Game 2 where they also got beaten by Bay Area.
Justin Brownlee led the Kings with a triple-double performance, chalking up 23 points, 13 boards, and 11 dishes. On the defensive end, “JB” had four steals and a denial.
Thompson had 18 points and six dimes while Aguilar had 12 markers. The reigning MVP also had five rebounds and two steals.
The most significant question mark in the series is if Nicholson will be ready and healthy to play in Game 5 to compete against Ginebra.
