The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a championship round Game 6 against the Bay Area Dragons at 5:45 PM on January 11, 2023 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The Gin Kings are just a win away to bag the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup trophy now the question is if they’ll be able to close it while the visiting Dragons will continue to do all they can to survive and push the series to its final showdown and that’s Game 7.

The league’s “Iron Man” also famously known as “Tenyente Tenorio” suffered a groin injury in the latter part of the second quarter. He tried to play at the start of the third quarter after he felt well during the halftime break yet he immediately signaled the bench that he needs a substitute.

At first, that sounds trouble for the Barangay knowing that LA Tenorio won’t be able to return in the game. Yet, it came like a blessing in disguise as Stanley Pringle reintroduced himself to the crowd and like he turned back the hands of time. Without Ginebra’s starting point guard, “Stan-the-Man” dropped 20 points unleashing 6-of-9 from the three-point territory.

“He is definitely a weapon and he is a weapon that really Bay Area has not seen really. Because he hasn’t been playing heavy, heavy minutes”, said Cone. “They don’t know the history of Stanley a year ago, two years ago, three years ago, how dynamic he can be. He is almost like a little secret weapon off the bench for us against Bay Area,” Cone added.

For the Bay Area on the other hand, after losing Andrew Nicholson for two straight games it was reported that Myles Powell will be reactivated in order to give them a boost and push the Finals to its sudden death.

“We lose, we are out. It’s to that point,” said Bay Area head coach Brian Goorjian.

Without Nicholson and Glen Yang, the Dragons struggled to execute their play, especially at the crucial moments of the game. Though Yang sat out in Game 5, he has a good chance to return to action on Wednesday.

“I’ll put 75-25 on Glen,” said Goorjian. “For our team, and the way we are put together, Glen is invaluable. That piece tonight, when the pressure was on, on the offensive end, trying to get a good shot, and get through our stuff, missing him was noticeable from a coaching standpoint,” added Goorjian.
