Though still win-less until two tries but the fiery head coach of Rain or Shine saw some promising performance from his team during their match against the TNT Tropang Giga several days ago.
In that match, they led as much as 18 points and they controlled the entire first half of the ballgame. Yet, in the decisive period, their opponent was able to get the upper edge and cost them another game.
“We played a lot better than our first game, and it’s a sign of improvement. Siguro pag na-break ang ice, aayos din ang takbo ng team,” said ROS head coach Yeng Guiao.
Instead of lurking on the bad after their match with TNT, coach Yeng preferred to compare their team output when they played against the Meralco Bolts.
“Having been able to put them in a precarious situation and giving ourselves a chance to win, I think it’s still an improvement from our Meralco game where we were not able to compete in the end game, in the fourth quarter. Ito naka-compete kami hanggang huli,” said Guiao.
For Converge, on the other hand, their winning streak continues and head coach Aldin Ayo and his squad aren’t thinking of putting it on halt anytime.
Many considered that their duel against the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots a few days ago was their real test and it appears that they passed with flying colors.
Maverick Ahanmisi’s coming off the bench works well for them while their young guns like Alec Stockton, Aljun Melecio, and Jeron Teng play solid basketball. Their newly tapped import Jamal Franklin looks like having no time to adjust to their system and teammates as he dropped 26 points and 13 rebounds versus Magnolia.
