The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a Game 3 Semi-Finals head-to-head match against the San Miguel Beermen at 3:00 PM on March 29, 2023 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum at Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The Gin Kings are absolutely looking for a relentless barrage and complete a sweep that will give them instant access to the Finals while the Beermen will try to dodge that attack and extend their Govs Cup campaign to another day.

The PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals have been underway and defending champions Barangay Ginebra is just a win away from making the best-of-seven finals. They are set to play San Miguel Beer in Game 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and a win will grant them access to the championship. However, San Miguel Beer is not going down without a fight and is looking to extend the series. This article will take a closer look at both teams and what to expect from the upcoming game.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone knows the importance of not being overconfident despite leading the series 2-0. “You start looking for that (sweep), saying you have that kind of lead, then you open yourself up to be kampante. And if you do that against a team like this then you’re in big trouble,” he said.

Cone emphasized that his team is focused on playing one game at a time and they are not looking too far ahead. He also pointed out that they want to grow within the series and improve their game with each game they play.

San Miguel Beer, on the other hand, is facing immense pressure as they are down 0-2 in the series. Coach Jorge Gallent hopes to motivate his players and keep their mindset on winning Game 3 instead of going on vacation. “We have to think of Game 3 only. We can’t think that if we win Game 3 what’s gonna happen in Game 4. We have to win Game 3 and put their mindset that we’re not on vacation yet,” he said.

Gallent is also aware that the game is not just about Xs and Os. It’s about playing with effort, discipline, and patience. He emphasized the importance of playing as a unit and sharing the ball, as Ginebra has a sagging defense that can easily be broken down with ball movement.

San Miguel Beer has been in this situation before, trailing 0-2 in a best-of-five series. Although they have never been swept, they have never won a series either when trailing 0-2, all of them leading to a 3-1 finish. However, Gallent remains optimistic and is pushing his team to get one win at a time.

In the previous games, Ginebra has outscored San Miguel Beer by a total of 29 points. They have also had more assists, 35-20, and have outrebounded their opponents, 54-43. However, anything can happen in Game 3, and San Miguel Beer is not one to back down.

In other news, Barangay Ginebra center Christian Standhardinger was named CPlay-PBAPC Player of the Week, cementing his role as a critical player for the team.

Game 3 between Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel Beer is sure to be a thrilling match as both teams fight for their place in the finals. It’s a must-win game for San Miguel Beer, and they will come out strong and give their all. Barangay Ginebra, on the other hand, will look to improve on their previous games and continue their winning streak. The Smart Araneta Coliseum will be filled with excitement and anticipation as fans wait to see which team will come out on top.
