The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is scheduled for a Game 4 Championship round head-to-head match against the Talk ‘N Text TNT Tropang Giga at 6:00 PM on April 16, 2023 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum at Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The insertion of Stanley Pringle on the first-five lineup of the Gin Kings was the key ingredient for them to reclaim the higher ground of their championship series. Likewise, their better accuracy from beyond the arc in general helped them take that 2-1 series advantage. The Tropang Giga will try to replicate that adjustment success and fans are expecting them to go all out to avoid the 1-3 pit.

The Barangay Ginebra Kings and TNT Tropang Giga are set to battle it out once again in Game 4 of the PBA Governors’ Cup championship series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday. The Kings lead the series 2-1 and are looking to take a pivotal 3-1 lead. Meanwhile, the Tropang Giga are aiming to tie the series yet again after coming off a 117-93 defeat in Game 3.

The key to winning the game is to stop the offensive weapons of the other team while getting your own shooters into good shooting positions. Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone acknowledges that the Tropang Giga are in the finals for a reason and that it’s challenging to get back-to-back wins against a good team like theirs. TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa knows that they have to adjust and make the necessary changes to beat the Kings.

Game 3 was close until the Gin Kings went on a crucial run from an 88-all count, thanks to Jamie Malonzo and Scottie Thompson’s crucial long bombs. The Kings are not expected to rest easy, knowing that the Tropang Giga will come back and do the same in Game 4. Both teams have been relying on their three-point shooting percentage to win the game, and whoever shoots better from beyond the arc is likely to come out victorious.

In Game 3, the Kings had an extra hot gun in Stanley Pringle, who responded with a wondrous 6-of-6 three-pointers. Justin Brownlee was back in his old form and scored 29 points, while Jamie Malonzo had his own big night with 27 points, also marked by six treys. Scottie Thompson and Christian Standhardinger had their 16-10 double-doubles in the game.

Pringle essentially started it all for Barangay Ginebra with an 11-point explosion in the opening quarter, leading the Kings to a double-digit lead early on. However, they needed a strong finish to beat the Tropang Giga, who put up a good fight throughout the game. Coach Tim Cone and his team will need to replicate their performance from Game 3 to take a commanding lead in the series.

Meanwhile, the Tropang Giga are hardly disheartened, knowing they are still very much in the series. Import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had a 32-point performance in Game 3, and he will need to continue his impressive scoring for the Tropang Giga to have a chance of winning Game 4. The team needs to improve their three-point shooting percentage to keep up with the Kings, who have been on fire from beyond the arc.

As the two teams gear up for Game 4, basketball fans can expect an exciting and intense match. It’s a crucial game for both teams, and they will leave everything on the court. It’s anyone’s game at this point, and the team that executes their game plan better and shoots better from beyond the arc is likely to come out on top.
