2017 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals Schedule

The stage is now set for the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup and it will be the rematch between the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts.

Although it’s already a year have passed but the memory of Justin Brownlee drilling a winning basket in Game 6 of 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup still fresh in the minds of many of PBA fanatics.

Of course, it was a sweet moment for Ginebra fans and it was hard pill to swallow for the followers of the Bolts.

This year’s version of Governors’ Cup Finals, major changes are noticeable especially in the part of coach Norman Black squad.

Meralco will have a healthy Jared Dillenger who is playing very well especially in their semi-finals series against Star Hotshots where he usually seen converting crucial baskets.

They also have the well-improved Amer Baser who is playing his best season in the PBA plus the addition of point guard back-up Mike Tolomia.

Then there’s the late addition of Ranidel de Ocampo, a league veteran and knows what to do in crucial moments of the game especially in important matches like the PBA Finals or playing with Gilas Pilipinas.

For Ginebra on the other hand, their biggest upgrade this year was the return of Greg Slaughter. Slaughter got sidelined last year due to injury and was the main problem of coach Nash Racela in the post during the Ginebra versus Talk ‘N Text semi-finals series.
