2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals Round Schedule (Ginebra Vs Meralco)

by | Posted on: December 24th, 2019 | No Comments | Sports

The biggest stage of the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup is now ready as the protagonists of the championship round have already identified.

For the third time in the past four PBA seasons, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Meralco Bolts will once again compete for the championship trophy of the third conference.

The imports for both squads remain the same as Justin Brownlee will try to lead the Gin Kings for its third Gov’s Cup crown while Bolts’ Allen Durham wanted to complete his unfinished business in the first professional basketball league in Asia.

However, this year’s version of the local squad is somehow different for both squads.

Ginebra now has the shifty guard and last year’s MVP finalist Stanley Pringle, Jeff Chan and of course the former Meralco Bolts’ “Daredevil” Jared Dillenger.

For the squad of coach Norman Black, their latest acquisitions is one of the keys why they were able to survive in Game 5 versus its sister-team the TNT KaTropa.

Meralco added Raymond Almazan, Allein Maliksi and the revelation of their second-round pick rookie Bong Quinto.

Game 1 will start on January 8, 2020 and will be held at the Big Dome. Then on Game 2, the PBA will travel to Lucena for its out-of-town championship match.

Game 3 and Game 4 will resume in Metro Manila. If needed, Game 5 will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena then Game 6 and Game 7 will be in the Philippine Arena to accommodate a much larger audience.

In 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup the series was concluded in Game 6 while in 2017 version of the same tourney reached to its decisive Game 7. Both championship trophies went to the Gin Kings.
