This year’s championship round of the All-Filipino conference is a rematch of the last year’s Philippine Cup but with some twists.
The Hotshots lost Marc Pingris last year as he dealt with an ACL injury, the same leg problem which keeps him sidelined this 44th PBA season.
Yet, Magnolia has now found team chemistry and proved that they’re now one of the championship contenders in any contenders after they snagged the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
The team led by coach Chito Victolero from the bench are looking for their two straight Finals trophies.
For the Beermen on the other hand, many have said that the mighty became mightier when they added 2017 first pick Christian Standhardinger in the lineup. Then before the current season starts they have signed Terrence Romeo to join their already loaded roster.
Those are the big names which aren’t in the lineup of coach Leo Austria in last year’s version of SMB squad.
The Beermen are looking for the same result as they aim for their five straight championship victory in the Philippine Cup while Paul Lee and the entire Magnolia franchise wanted to change that.
