The San Miguel Pale Pilsen Alab Pilipinas is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the CLS Knights Indonesia at 8:00 P.M. on March 25, 2018 live from the Laguna’s Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex.

Qualifying to the semis is what the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas priority this evening. They need to secure a win for them to realize their goal.

Currently sitting at number four in the ABL standings, Alab’s 13-6 win-loss record will mean nothing if they loss to the visiting CLS Knights Indonesia.

In just a span of four days both squads will meet once again. In their previous encounter, Alab went victorious with a lopsided win, 84-67.

That win in Caloocan came with a prize, San Miguel Alab Pilipinas lost Renaldo Balkman as he sprained his ankle and got sidelined for the rest of the second half. It will now in the hands of coach Jimmy Alapag whether he will insert Balkman in tonight’s game or keep him resting as the home squad already secured a playoffs spot.

In case the option is to sit-out Balkman then CLS Knights’ big-man Brian Williams can possibly operate the paint easily and dominate the rebounding end as he usually do with their other opponents. Although out of the Playoffs race, Williams can still explode as he exploite a Balkman-less Alab. Williams proved that as he logged 19 markers with 18 boards in his last game.

With that scenario, Balkman’s partner in Alab’s World Import Justin Brownlee needs to put more effort. Apart from his usual production in scoring, Brownlee also need to check the big-men of the Knights. Brownlee’s per game averages needs to increase to take over the slack left by Balkman. He currently averaging 22.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists per outing.

RayRay Parks Jr., the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player should also need to pump up his stats to help Brownlee cover the absence of Balkman. Parks led all scorers in their previous game with 21 points.

For the visiting squad on the other hand, Freddie Lish needs to make a bounce back game. Knights needs to find other scoring threat apart from their World Imports namely Brian Williams and Shane Edwards. Lish struggled in their last game where he shoots an awful 1-of-8 from the field.
