The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Blackwater Bossing at 3:00 P.M. on December 22, 2021 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The cellar-dweller Bossings are itching to end their losing slump while the Aces are eyeing for a fresh start and back to their winning ways as the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup resumes this afternoon in Cubao.
The bigger challenge for Blackwater’s head coach Ariel Vanguardia at the moment is to overcome the number of injuries in his current roster. The names on that list are not just ordinary but the majority are their starters.
Jayvee Casio, Baser Amer, and Joshua Torralba joined Andre Paras, Frank Golla, Mike Ayonayon, Kelly Nabong, and David Semerad on their team’s sidelines.
One of their adjustments is to make Jaylen Bond into a scoring machine which according to coach Vanguardia isn’t one of his upsides rather the import is more of a defensive specialist.
“Now we’re asking him (Bond) to score. Hindi iyun ang strength niya,” added Vanguardia. “Pero with our situation we cannot do anything but ask Jaylen to score more. He should take the scoring load more and I think he understands that,” he added.
For Alaska on the other hand, they should be now joining the NLEX Road Warriors at the top of the standings with a 4-0 slate. However, they got stung by the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the TNT KaTropa in a close-game defeat.
