The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Kia Picanto at 4:30 P.M. on September 10, 2017 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Aces are gunning for its three-game winning streak while the Picantos will try to get at least one win this conference.
The Aces win against the Beermen clearly gave them a morale boost. In their last outing against the GlobalPort Batang Pier, coach Alex Compton’s squad looks formidable once again.
Led by their import LaDontae Henton who is averaging 30.8 points and 12.4 rebounds, Alaska will be coming in to their 4:30 PM match as the favorite team to win the game.
Despite of the fact that the Aces opponent are still win-less, coach Alex Compton doesn’t take Kia for granted.
“Kia has had a week to prepare and Geron Johnson had a week to really adjust to his new team’s system,” said Compton, a day after his own crew won over GlobalPort 101-88 only last Friday.
“It feels like we are almost coming into this game blind in a sense because of the variety of new things they have had time to put in and the time their import has had to adjust,” added Compton.
“We will have to be great defensively and adjust to the game as it develops. This is another must win for us.”
With the recent report that Gilas cadet Christian Standhardinger will be joining the 2017 PBA Draft, Kia might go ahead and start tanking to strengthen their chances to acquire the services of the 28-year-old Fil-German.
In the entire 2016-17 PBA Season up to their present record, Kia has logged a total of six games and currently owns the worst win-loss card. That number looks bad for the franchise but can give them a golden ticket in the next draft.
