The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Meralco Bolts at 7:00 P.M. on January 10, 2018 live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Aces are looking to avoid a three-game losing skid while the Bolts are seeking to avenge their heart-breaking loss against the powerhouse San Miguel Beermen.
The impressive PBA debut and the stellar performance of his second game as a professional basketball player, Jeron Teng still missing another important piece of stats to make him a bonafied franchise player.
That is bringing more wins to his Alaska Aces which are now in the bottom of standings of the still early 2017-18 PBA Philippine Cup.
Teng logged 16 points in his first game in the PBA and then he followed it up with a 28-point explosion against the Talk ‘N Text KaTropa but both in a losing effort.
Despite of those shortcomings from the De La Salle rookie along with his teammates, coach Norman Black still cautious of what Teng can do in their Wednesday main-game schedule.
“Defensively, we must try to limit the duo of Calvin Abueva and Jeron Teng while also challenging the outside shooting of Jvee Casio,” Black also said.
Meralco Bolts just came from a game where they almost steal a victory versus the Beermen. They were down as much as 22 points especially in the first half but were able to trim it down to a single point after Reynel Hugnatan converted his three-point attempt in the third quarter, 71-72.
Apart from Hugnatan, Mike Tolomia was the other spark for coach Norman Black who scored all of his 21 points in the second half of action. Ken Bono was also a surprise to everyone especially to June Mar Fajardo.
Not only that Bono slowed down SMB’s “the Kraken” but also contributed eight points all came from a perimeter jump-shots and was 100% from the field.
