The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 7:00 P.M. on July 19, 2017 live from Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Aces is looking to end their losing dating back to the Commissioner’s Cup while the new look Road Warriors will attempt to start the conference with a winning attitude.
Coach Yeng Guiao hinted last conference that if his team continue on losing games then a drastic change will soon to happen. That actually happened at the last few games of the Commissioner’s Cup.
NLEX traded several of its assets in exchange for some players who are familiar with coach Yeng Guiao’s system.
Larry Fonacier and JR Quinahan along with Alex Mallari are the new names for the franchise where its fans hopes to transform them back into a contending ball-club.
Even Alaska coach Alex Compton have now seen a resemblance of a real Yeng Guiao squad that won several championships.

“They acquired starters from other teams that I think will be really significant players for them for a while,” Compton said. “They also added a big time post scorer in Rabeh (Al-Hussaini), Jonas Villanueva is back, and they have a workhorse for an import (Aaron Fullerton),” added Compton.
Alaska were one of the two victims of the new look NLEX last second conference and the other one was Phoenix Fuel Masters. The Road Warriors lost its first nine games in that conference before winning back-to-back.
In contrast, Alaska was in a winning column at the start of the Commissioner’s Cup where they’ve won four straight despite of having an injury plagued roster and then ended losing all of its remaining games.
The Aces battled GlobalPort BatangPier for the last playoffs spot but lost in a thrilling 106-107 match.
