The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the NLEX Road Warriors at 7:00 P.M. on June 15, 2018 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The red hot Aces are on the chase and attempt to grab the elusive seven-game winning streak while the Road Warriors will be fighting for its life to keep their playoffs hopes alive when PBA resumes tonight in the Mall of Asia Arena.
Looking at the win-loss record of Alaska this 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, one can say that coach Alex Compton’s team seems like unbeatable. However, beyond that 6-1 card of the Aces there’s a guy name Vic Manuel.
Despite of not having Calvin Abueva and rookie Jeron Teng, Alaska able to defeat the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok in their last outing. The 6’3 power forward who is also known as the “MuscleMan” logged a career-high of 35 points.
Those points didn’t come easy as his main defender during that game was Rafi Reavis who is one of the best low-post defender in the league.
“Rafi is one of the premier one-on-one defenders and I have a lot of respect for Rafi when it comes to defense. For Vic to score against a smart, long defender like Rafi is very impressive. It was pretty phenomenal,” Compton said.
For NLEX on the other hand, their next three games schedule are tough. Tonight it will be the Aces then they have the San Miguel Beermen and the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok next in their queue.
Without Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas, coach Yeng Guiao can only hope that his veteran guards like Cyrus Baguio, Larry Fonacier and Alex Mallari will takeover the scoring slack.
