The Alaska Aces is scheduled for a head-to-head game against the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters at 7:00 PM P.M. on March 1, 2019 live from the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Aces are looking to extend their winning streak to three while the Fuel Masters wanted to make two wins in a row when PBA resumes tonight at the SM MOA Arena.
Phoenix just came from a close-game against the NorthPort Batang Pier last Wednesday where many believed that the victory should go to their opponent.
Though after the review the league admitted that they made a mistake on officiating but at the end of the day the Fuel Masters got the win.
That also clinched them for the playoffs. This is now the time to focus their efforts on making it to the top two squads that will carry a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals round.
“Four of our six wins came from stoppage. We keep on inculcating on our players na ‘yan ang gusto naming yakapin na identity, and we’ll continue to preach that,” said Alas.
“Pahirapan yung panalo namin. Pero mas mahirap yung susunod,” Alas added.
For coach Alex Compton squad on the other hand, they were able to overcome the Blackwater Elite before the start of the two-week long PBA break.
Sonny Thoss turned the hands of time as he became sharp once again from the perimeter area. Thoss along with Chris Banchero were instrumental in that victory.
“A lot of us coaches are less concerned about points and more concerned with how you play. And he was playing the right way,” said Compton of Thoss.
